Out of Darkness Walk
October 3, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Welcome to the Anchorage Out of the Darkness Experience
While the Out of the Darkness Walk in Anchorage is going to look different this year, our mission to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide has not changed. We are a strong and resilient community, united in our effort to fight suicide, raise awareness, educate our communities, support those who have lost loved ones, and support those with lived experience. We use our voices and share our stories to provide hope.
We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 3, for the (new) Anchorage Out of the Darkness Experience. We’re working hard to plan meaningful opportunities to connect and inspire you, and we will share more details about our exciting plans in the coming weeks. We want to keep you up-to-date with the most current information so be sure to sign up and join us!
WILL THERE BE A WALK? YES!
As an organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is leading by example in practicing healthy behaviors for ourselves and one another during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Our self-guided walk is the perfect way to practice safe distancing while raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention in Alaska. Follow our traditional path of hope and healing beginning at the Chuck Albrecht Softball Complex and the Campbell Creek trail. Follow the course and keep an eye out for our hand painted Out of the Darkness rocks, selfie station and other memorable moments along the way.
Following your walk, join us for a virtual honor bead ceremony featured on our event homepage and social media accounts.
